Truckload Of Marines Hits Landmine

An older video shows a truckload of Marines awaiting the detonation of a controlled blast as they drive away from the scene, hoping to get a sweet video.

The explosion they get isn't the one they were expecting as some sort of unexploded ordnance (UXO), likely a long-forgotten landmine, detonates under their vehicle. Confusion abounds, and some not-too-intelligent service member with authority tells them troops to dismount into the mine infested desert. However, a different leader quickly intervenes and tells the Marines to stay in place.

There are approximately 10 million landmines indiscriminately waiting in Afghanistan, most of which were placed during the Soviet-Afghan War.
