This footage, provided by the Fort Lauderdale PD, shows their officers in a firefight with an armed suspect in a Holiday Inn. According to the call which dispatched them to the scene, he had killed someone and further threatened to shoot anyone who came near. When they arrived, he opened fire on the officers. This lethal force situation requires viewer’s discretion.

The footage begins with police stacked up in the hallway with AR-15s and a ballistic shield. They call for the suspect, later identified as Karl Chludinsky, 44 years of age, to come out with his hands up. Chludinsky opens the door and is seen with a cell phone in his left hand and a handgun in his right at 0:19. When the suspect points it at the officers, they open fire, causing Chludinsky to close the door.

At 0:32, Chludinsky fires at the officers through the door, prompting them to return fire. The collective team dumps rounds through the door and wall. One FLPD officer- whose perspective we see first and the second man in the stack after the shield bearer- took a round to his plate carrier and was transported to the hospital, but was released thereafter. Responding SWAT officers found Chludinsky dead in the room when they made entry.
