(NSFW) Officer Outguns Suspect During Close Quarter Engagement

Published Sept. 8, 2021

On the night of May 5, 2020, officers from the Webster Groves Police Department were dispatched to a stranded car, located on I-44 near Elm St, Missouri.

As shown in the footage, the first responding officer pulled his police cruiser behind the rear end of the stranded vehicle. While exiting the cruiser, the suspect is seen opening and closing the driver side door of his vehicle, making the officer more cautious.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer is heard yelling to the occupant to exit the vehicle. Before exiting the vehicle, the suspect drew a firearm and began shooting the officer, while closing distance between them. The officer, struck multiple times by gunfire, gains a second wind, drew his firearm and began shooting at the suspect, who in the footage appears to be physically assaulting the wounded officer.

While on the ground, the officer returned multiple shots, striking the suspect, fatally wounding him. After neutralizing the suspect, the police officer was able to apply a tourniquet to himself and was rushed to the hospital by a secondary responding officer. The seven year veteran of Webster Groves kept himself in the fight after being ambushed, successfully combatted the suspect, and applied his own life saving medical aid. Needless to say, he is a BAMF.

As for the suspect, responding officers and medical personnel attempted life saving measures, however the suspect was pronounced deceased. He was later identified as 23-year-old Qavon Webb, a resident of North St. Louis.
