(NSFW) Robbery Suspect Fires Point Blank On Officer And Loses Gun Fight

The Kentucky State Police has released new body camera footage from an incident that occurred on March 17th, 2022, showing the terrifying moments an officer was nearly shot at point blank range by a robbery suspect.


The footage provided, shows a Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officer pursuing 53-year-old Dwayne Edward Smith in the 1400 block of Clara Avenue. As the officer engaged in a physical altercation with Smith; Smith drew a 9mm handgun from his jacket, pointed it directly at the officers head, and pulled the trigger.


Miraculously, the officer moved away from Smith a split second before the weapon discharged. The officer drew his firearm and fired back at Smith, striking him several times, and subdued him. Smith was treated by responding officers until EMS arrived and sent him to University Hospital where he was labeled in stable condition.
