(NSFW) Armed Felon Neutralized After Firing Revolver At Deputies

On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022, about 4:09 P.M., deputies and officers from the Riverside County Gang Task Force were searching for a known suspect in the city of Hemet, with three felony warrants for carjacking, robbery, drugs, and weapons charges.


Task force members located the suspect seated in a vehicle in the 600 block of North Taschner Drive and attempted to contact him. The suspect drove away a short distance, abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies and officers chased the armed suspect through several yards and onto a property in the 600 block of Hillmer Drive. Once on the property, a deputy and officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect was struck with gunfire and was immediately provided medical treatment. Paramedics from the Hemet Fire Department and American Medical Response arrived on scene and provided further medical aid prior to transporting the suspect to a local hospital.


The suspect, Edgar Solis, a 35-year-old resident of Hemet, was arrested and is being held on $1.5 million dollars bail. A firearm was located at the scene. No deputies or officers were injured during this incident. There are no outstanding suspects and there is no threat to the public.


The following agencies were involved in the deputy and officer-involved shooting: Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol. The involved deputies and officers will be placed on paid administrative leave per their Department policies. The names of the involved deputies and officers will not be released at this time.
