A fiery explosion of an unknown nature erupted along a busy evacuation route while Palestinians were attempting to flee areas of the Gaza Strip facing an imminent Israeli ground operation.

Pro Hamas accounts are suggesting the blast is the result of an Israeli airstrike. However, the explosion is fiery in nature, suggesting some sort of petrol or gas based device. No projectile munition can be seen or heard as well.

It's possible some sort of improvised explosive device was detonated. It's even possible that the explosion was the result of poorly stored gas tanks inside one of the vehicles.
