US Deploys F-35s, Apache Attack Helicopters, And Paratroopers To Baltics

Following Russia's newest invasion into Ukraine, the US has deployed hundred more troops and several combat aircraft to eastern Europe to reassure NATO members and deter further Russian aggression in the region.


According to the reports, 800 paratroopers from the Italy-based 173rd Airborne Brigade have deployed to the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania). As many as eight Air Force F-35A strike fighters deployed from Germany to the region. Over 30 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters are also being spread across Poland and the Baltic states. The additional forces are being added to the 6,000 troops already deployed amid the growing tensions with Russia.


“These additional personnel are being repositioned to reassure our NATO allies, deter any potential aggression against NATO member states, and train with host-nation forces,” said a senior defense official according to the Military Times.
