Soldiers of the Falcon Group of the Ukrainian 116th Brigade conduct a combat recovery of an armored vehicle struck by a Russian Lancet FPV drone. This footage is interesting as it captures the entire process, from coordination of the recovery effort, to securing the stricken vehicle and evacuation of the wounded, to treatment and stabilization of the wounded at a forward casualty collection point. It is interesting to compare how Ukraine conducts recovery and evacuation to what we see from Russian sources, which looks rather nineteenth century by comparison. The Ukrainian Army has an effective process that ensures that soldiers are stabilized close to the front before being evacuated to a rear area for more extensive treatment, minimizing loss of life and improving the odds that soldiers can recover and return to duty. Also of minor note I the condition of the gear seen in this video. The 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade was formed in January 2023. They appear well-kitted out and well prepared. One soldier is seen with his blood group displayed on his plate carrier, and his magazines fitted with loops to facilitate removing them from magazine pouches.
