Gun tape taken off of an A-1 Skyraider captures the moment a fireball caused by a napalm strike in Vietnam on July 2, 1965 almost takes out the recording aircraft.

The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was a single-seat, prop engine attack aircraft that was in service from 1946 until the early-1980s. Produced by Douglas Aircraft Company, it was one of the longest serving single seat prop-engine attack aircrafts. It was officially retired from service in the United States in 1973, but continued to see use by other countries such as the Gabonese Airforce until 1985 when it was officially retired and replaced.
