Russian Soldier Records Massive Artillery Barrage

Footage recorded on the cell phone of a Russian Soldier manning an artillery position shows a massive Ukrainian artillery barrage landing nearby.

There's two important things in this video you need to know. First, those aren't trees in the distance that the Russian Soldier is recording. Those are the plumes of dirt and smoke being kicked up into the air as the artillery impacts with the Earth and anything in the vicinity of those explosions. Second, this is probably the third or fourth time we've seen a Russian Soldier recording the combat from the ground on a cell phone, but the frequency of videos like this have increased exponentially over the past few weeks.

For the first two months of the conflict, cell phone footage from Russians was unheard of. You just simply didn't find it because the Russians present in Ukraine had no cell phones. In the third month we saw maybe one piece of footage recorded by a Russian with a cell phone, and recently there have been two or three videos released from the Russian POV recorded on cell phones.

This is either an indicator that the Russians are loosening the policy on troops bringing their phones, or more and more troops are finding ways to smuggle them into country past the line of departure. That, or the footage we're getting now is older footage from Russian troops who have returned to rear positions that are just now publishing footage that they recorded in country.
