American Volunteer Helps Canadian With Tourniquet Amid Russian Shelling

This short clip shows the perspective of a French Canadian volunteer in the Ukrainian military. As Russians shell their position, he is hit by shrapnel in the left leg. Although there is bleeding, the wound itself is not shown, and thanks to his squadmate's assistance, the soldier survives.

Timely and effective tourniquet care is a consistant lifesaver in combat. This soldier immediately manages pain and panic to help his squadmate get a tourniqet on him. The amount of blood becomes evident as the American's hand emerges from under his leg, covered in it. The Canadian carries a knife close to where the tourniquet is affixed, but he remembers to keep it out of the way.
