Officers Witness Drive-by Shooting And Respond With Lethal Shots

The San Antonio Police Department released footage from an officer-involved shooting that occurred September 12th, 2021.At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers were flagged down by a private security guard while handling an accident in the 4500 block of North Loop 1604 West.


The private security guard advised officers that there was a disturbance behind the location that involved several individuals with guns. Three officers went toward the back of the location when they heard gunfire, then saw a silver Mercedes speeding through a crowd of people, and one of the occupants was observed shooting.


Fearing for their safety, two officers fired their weapons at the suspects. The security guard also fired his weapon at the silver Mercedes. The silver Mercedes fled the location and has not been located.


A 23-year-old female who was sitting in her vehicle at the location was struck once by gunfire. She was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. At this time, it is unknown whether the female was struck by officers or the suspects gun fire. As for the suspects, their identity, where about, and potential injuries are still unknown.
