(NSFW) Female Pulls Gun On Officers And Gets Neutralized Immediately

At about 1:30 p.m., on September the 24th, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department attempted a traffic stop in the 3800 block of Martin Luther King St. for a driving infraction. Officers identified the vehicle as a red Honda Pilot, which at the time was being driven by a white female.


Due to the suspects erratic driving, officers disengaged from the attempted traffic stop due to local safety precautions. Approximately an hour later, officers were patrolling the area of 556 Eugene St, where they located the same red Honda parked outside a home. Upon locating the vehicle, officers exited and located a white female subject on a nearby porch. The female subject informed officers she had a firearm on her, and officers commanded her not to make any sudden motions toward the weapon.


As officers continued questioning the female subject, an additional officer was requested to arrived on scene to make an identification for the driver of the Honda Pilot who had fled earlier that day. As the group of officers re-entered the yard, the female subject began yelling at the officers "don't come closer". While stating that, she began reaching toward the weapon holstered on her waistband. Multiple officers drew their firearms and again, commanded the female subject to not reach.


Ignoring the commands, the suspect drew her firearm and pointed it at the officers. In response, three responding officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect and subduing her. Live saving aid was immediately rendered to the suspect until EMS arrived on the scene. Shortly after their arrival, the suspect was pronounced deceased. The female suspect was later identified as 36-year-old Jessie Leonard.
