HIMARS Destroys Russian Mi-8 Helicopter

A Russian Mi-8 is suspected to have experienced mechanical problems, forcing it to make an emergency landing in the Lyman area of eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian forces didn't let the opportunity go to waste and promptly relayed the helicopter's position to local artillery units.

Within minutes, a HIMARS guided rocket (GMLRS) arrives and air bursts over the target aircraft. The Mi-8 would have been perforated by thousands of super dense tungsten projectiles, rendering the aircraft a total loss for the Russians.
