Guard Soldier Becomes First Service Member To Die Of Covid-19

A New Jersey National Guard physicians assistant became the first US service member to die as a result of contracting the Covid-19 coronavirus, according to the Pentagon.


CPT Douglas Linn Hickok had been hospitalized since Mar. 21, 2020. According to the reports, Hickock was not one of the Guardsmen who had been activated for the pandemic.



The number of troops testing positive for the virus rose from 309 to 569 over the weekend, and 26 service members are currently hospitalized.
