Footage from a quadcopter recon drone belonging to Ukrainian forces shows trench positions of the Donetsk People's Republic (Russian proxies). The militants fire at the drone and even throw rocks in an attempt to knock it down.

The small consumer drone allows the Ukrainians to gather realtime intelligence as to the size, location, and composition of the enemy forces. Regular reconnaissance helps to identify patterns in enemy operating procedures. The drone's visible harassment of the militants further fills the role of a psychological warfare asset for the Ukrainians, as the entrenched pro Russian forces know they are being observed in all their activities.
