Footage reportedly out of the Kharkiv region shows a Ukrainian sniper engaging Russian troops with the aid of a thermal riflescope.

We are unable to verify the casualties, if any, in the accompanying footage. Our source tells us the optic is one of the TVT Archer TSA variants that is mounted on a Savage 110 bolt action rifle. Thermal riflescopes have shown to be effective on the battlefield as they allow the rifleman to engage targets in total darkness without the detectable signature of IR lasers and illuminators needed for standard night vision type devices.
