Ukrainian POV: Street to Street Fighting in Bakhmut

GoPro footage released by a member of the Ukrainian 93rd Brigade in Bakhmut captures a street engagement with Russian forces. The Ukrainian utilize rockets and small arms fire to hit Russian positions.

This is a damn near textbook rocket attack. The Ukrainians start in a cold position, prep their rocket, and then maneuver to a hot position to take their shot. The rocketeer immediately engaged as soon as he has the target in his sights and then maneuvers back to the cold position to reload. Following a second prep of the rocket, he moves back out to the same hot position and takes a second shot at the target.

A cold position is used by rocketeers to load their weapon system in a position of safety. This is also where they're briefed on their target and adjacent units prepare to engage the target to keep rocket-man safe from incoming enemy fire. The hot position is where the engagement itself occurs. It's the most exposed position for the rocketeer and is also generally where the enemy has the best line of site to the troop firing the rocket. As a result, the rocketeer only has a few seconds to get into position and take his shot and adjacent units are expected to suppress the enemy positions while the rocketeer is in this position.
