Members of a Ukrainian Militia use a retail drone to spot their mortar fire onto a Separatist position. The effects are good, and the music they edited into the clip is quite jovial.

Drones are pretty prolific on the modern battlefield. Rarely a day goes by now where a drone that is available on the retail market isn't capturing combat footage or being used as a spotting device for indirect fires. This video is just another example in the long list of examples why professional militaries around the world are seeking solutions to deal with airborne drones.

The funny thing about this video is the fact that while the Ukrainian Militia group is slamming a Separatist position with mortar fires, and correcting their rounds with the drone's observation abilities, they decided a jovial song with an Irish feel would fit the bill as the soundtrack. Not too sure on why that was decided, but I can't say I'm mad about it.
