A Russian civilian records as a reported Ukrainian loitering munition crashes and explodes in the vicinity of Smolensk, Russia.

The western Russian region of Smolensk borders Belarus and sits just north of Ukraine. It's not clear of the location of Smolensk was in reference to the oblast, the city, or both. The intended target of the drone isn't known either. Smolensk city has two air ports that may be used by Russian military. It's not known if the drone was shot down, jammed, malfunction, or actually hit its intended target.
