Troops Take Written Test Inside of the Gas Chamber

Members of an armed service take a written test while inside of the gas chamber. Sometimes military training is way worse than anything combat can throw at you.

Man, whatever this job is, I'm gonna throw a hard pass at it. I didn't like the annual gas chamber training as it is, but imagine your job required you to take a written test while sitting inside of a room pumped full of tear gas. No thanks, that's gonna be a hard pass from me chief.

I don't want to diminish the importance of NBC or CBRN training here. The gas chamber is an effective tool for providing troops with confidence in their equipment. It's also an important training exercise that forces troops to demonstrate their proficiency with life-saving equipment that will ultimately be the only barrier of protection between them and a devastatingly effective chemical weapon attack. That said, this video is just an extreme example of the training CBRN and NBC troops go through to prove they're capable of ensuring the rest of their military is prepared to deal with a potential chemical threat.
