Russian Tank Left With Gaping Hole In Armor

Gnarly footage coming out of Mariupol today, shows a Russian T-72 OR T-90 tank, with a large, gaping hole cut through the side of it.

Now, I have no idea what type of round hit this tank, but whatever it was... cut through those exterior plates like butter. We have seen plenty of videos from both sides of the conflict, to include some from the GWoT, but for some reason this footage to me is incredible.

In most instances, tanks that are hit by large explosive munitions are engulfed in flames or sustain such significant damage you can't even tell it's a tank anymore. Now this here, this tank specifically shows how far the engineering of military vehicles has come. If I were to bet money on it, I'd say the driver and commander of this tank had a pretty solid chance for survival. Sure, we could argue that they sustained significant injuries due to the concussion of the explosion; however, the exterior armor deflected enough of the explosion to keep it from entering the turret.

I'm no tank expert, so let’s not roast me guys... let me learn from you. All you armor experts, leave some comments below. I'd love to hear some analysis of your own.
