Russian Su-25 Frogfoot Shot Down In Maryinka

A Russian Su-25 strike jet was reportedly shot down over Maryinka, a contested western suburb of Donetsk city, on April 7, 2023.

It's unclear what brought the aircraft down, but it was likely a man portable air defense system (MANPADS) surface to air missile. The actual hit happens just out of the video frame. A massive fiery explosion occurs as the jet fuel combusts, and the Russian pilot can be seen floating to the ground beneath a deployed parachute canopy.
