(NSFW) Ukrainian Applies Tourniquet To His Own Leg

Helmet cam footage shows a seriously wounded Ukrainian soldier applying a tourniquet to his own leg during an ongoing gunfight.

There is significant bleeding as evidenced by the soldier's blood-soaked pant leg, but it's not clear if there is actual arterial bleeding. The soldier is erring on the side of caution as one can bleed out in mere seconds, but it takes several hours for severe necrosis to occur as a result of tourniquet placement.

I will say his application of the tourniquet may not be all that effective as his initial application wasn't all that tight, and he should have twisted it much tighter. If anything, the application will slow his blood loss, buying him more time to be MedEvaced to a higher level of treatment.
