(NSFW) UKR 2nd Assault Battalion & 3rd AB Clear Positions, Take Prisoners

This GoPro-style footage depicts members of the Ukrainian 2nd Assault Battalion and 3rd Assault Brigade clearing Russian defensive positions and taking several prisoners. Because wound care is depicted, viewer discretion is advised.

The footage begins with a drone’s overview of the area. At 0:03, the clip transitions to bodycam/GoPro style footage of 2nd Assault Battalion and 3rd Assault Brigade exiting APCs into immediate contact with Russian forces in the woodline. The Ukrainians fire as they use tree trunks for cover. At 0:45, we see the cameraman and one of his comrades taking a large explosion in apparent stride, before the recording cuts to the cameraman clearing a dugout position with a grenade at 0:51. After the explosion he follows up with several rifle rounds into the hole.

At the 01:07 mark, the cameraman fires a grenade from a rifle-mounted launcher. A fast transition to drone footage overhead shows where the round landed, as well as soldiers, presumably Russian, relocating after the detonation.

The cameraman is rocked by a close explosion at 01:23. The sluggish movement thereafter indicates he is wounded, and indeed the wound on his right forearm is visable at 01:31. At 01:44, he applies a tourniquet to his arm.

Footage then cuts to a pair of Ukrainians clearing another Russian position with explosives. As in other, similar depictions, they finish the job with small arms fire directly into the hole. Afterward, Russians are depicted by both GoPro and overhead drone as they surrender.
