Brutal drone surveillance footage released by Ukraine's 30th Mechanized Brigade captures the moment a group of retreating Russians runs through chest-high grass directly past a group of Ukrainian Soldiers who promptly open fire into the group.

Towards the beginning of the video, it appears as if the Ukrainians are trying to identify the retreating Russians. They apparently aren't sure if they are friend or foe, but they definitely see them. Once identified, it looks like they try to get the Russians to stop as well, but the Russians ignore those commands and continue to maneuver.

The Ukrainians have no idea what the Russians intent is, so they open fire on the retreating force wiping them out.
