An Islamic State Militant prematurely detonates himself while rushing towards an SDF position in Raqqa, Syria. He only manages to kill himself.

The Battle for Raqqa was the final full-fledged conventional battle involving the Islamic State. Members of several organizations took part in the operation to clear the area of Islamic State Fighters, but a majority of the fighting rested on the multi-cultural organization known as the Syrian Defense Force. The primary actors in the SDF were Kurds, but also there were a number of Arabs and Assyrian and Syriac militia groups fighting with the SDF as well. On top of that, Armenians, Turks, and even some Chechens fought with the SDF in the 2017 Battle for Raqqa to root out the Islamic State.

This video shows the moment a group of SDF fighters managed to corner a small element of Islamic State fighters near a building. In a last ditch effort to cause damage to the SDF forces pushing them back, this Islamic State fighter decided to go full Abu Hajaar and rush at them with his suicide belt. Unfortunately for the Islamic State fighter however, he prematurely detonated his suicide belt, managing to only kill himself and create a nice fireball for the camera.
