LAPD released footage of an officer-involved-shooting that occurred on June 17, 2022 in which an armed suspect traded gunfire with police officers before being shot and arrested.

From the report, officers responded to a call of an armed man pointing a gun at civilians. As they approached the scene they were able to identify the suspect, John Blocker, 33, because of an accurate suspect description.

Immediately upon seeing the police, Blocker pulled the pistol and began firing at the police before running away. Another exchange of gunfire happened further don the road. During the gunfight Blocker was hit in the arm and decided to give up. He laid down at the entryway of an apartment door and allowed officers to take him into custody.
