On May 16, 2021 officers from the Baltimore City Police Department, responded to a domestic violence report at the 1800 block of E. Lafayette Ave.

Upon arriving to the home, officers were met by an individual outside, stating the suspect, 49-year-old Timothy Fleming was armed with a knife and threating a woman inside. As the officers entered the building, they located Fleming and the victim in a hallway, where Fleming can be seen standing over top of the victim armed with the knife.

In an attempt tp de-escalate the situation, officers spoke to Fleming and asked him to drop the knife. A few moments later, Fleming begins striking the knife toward the victim. To protect the victim from being further harmed, officers drew their firearms and began firing at Fleming, inflicting multiple gunshot wounds.

Officer began providing medical assistance to Fleming after the officer involved shooting occurred, but was later pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was reportedly unharmed from the attempted stabbing.
