Improved Trenches Not Quite Good Enough

An FPV quadcopter of the Ukrainian 51st Brigade enters a Russian trench and detonates. This footage is interesting as it shows an evolution in Russian trench construction. Apparently, the constant barrage of FPV drones and drone-dropped grenades killed enough soldiers that Russian commanders decided to improve their positions with overhead cover. These materials would do little to stop artillery shrapnel but might deter some lighter drones and grenade drops. At a minimum, it provides some concealment for soldiers manning the trench, though they are relegated to living like mole people. In this case, a skillful drone operator was able to locate an entrance and ruin someone’s day.
