GoPro: Russians Allegedly Overrun Ukrainian Position in Bakhmut

Helmet camera footage released by a Russian source claims that a Ukrainian position near Bakhmut was overwhelmed and taken by Russian forces on January 8, 2023. This footage ends before any evidence of the troops overrunning a position is shown.

According to the source of this footage, which is a pro-Russian telegram channel, this footage was recorded just minutes before a Ukrainian position near Bakhmut was overrun by Russian forces. We are unable to independently verify those claims at this time however as the footage ends before the Russians are seen taking a position from any Ukrainians at all. That said, this is compelling evidence that a close-in gunfight definitely occurred between Ukrainian and Russian forces, and the fact that this was published by a pro-Russian sources tells us that the recording Russian is still in the fight.
