Officers from the LAPD Devonshire patrol unit attempt to stop a suspicious individual who immediately flees with what appears to be a firearm. Seconds into the chase, the man falls unconscious from a drug overdose.

The man, who's identity hasn't been released, was provided with life-saving aid by members of the LAPD until an EMS unit could arrive on scene. He was then transported to a nearby medical facility where he recovered from the overdose and was cleared for booking.

Had the man pulled his gun instead of falling unconscious from a drug overdose, this body worn camera footage would have been an entirely different story.
