Cop Accidentally Runs Over Own Spike Strip

Published Dec. 6, 2021

A cringe worthy incident captured from a bystander shows the moments a Minneapolis police officer accidentally ran over his own spike strips that fell out of the rear end of his cruiser.

In May of 2021, a bystander reported that the officer setup a position on a side street in response to a highspeed vehicle chase in the downtown Minneapolis area. With the trunk left wide open, it would appear the vehicle chase route was altered, and the officer attempted to make a hasty maneuver to a new position.

Without realizing what items fell onto the road, the officer accelerates his vehicle at a high rate of speed in reverse, running over his own spike strips and completely disabling his vehicle.

At this time, I have not found a specific source indicating which department was involved but if any of you happen to, let us know in the comments below. Let's hope your Monday hasn't started out like this officer.
