Chinese J-11 "Unsafe" Intercept Of US B-52

The US Indo-Pacific Command released footage and a statement of what they're calling an "unsafe" and "unprofessional" intercept of a US B-52 bomber by a Chinese Shenyang J-11air superiority fighter on Oct. 24, 2023 during nighttime operations over the South China Sea.

The INDOPACOM statement claimed the Chinese fighter came within ten feet of the American aircraft and said the the Chinese J-11 approached with uncontrolled excessive speed, flying below and in front of the B-52, putting both aircraft in danger of collision.

There have reportedly been more than 180 unsafe intercepts of US aircraft by Chinese planes in the last two years.

The Shenyang J-11 is a counterfeit knockoff of the Soviet-designed Sukhoi Su-27.
