Security camera footage recorded in Chicago captures the moment a store clerk defends his store from an armed robber by first, attempting to take his gun, and then by chasing him out of the building when he realized the robber didn't have the intention of shooting him.

I would highly not advise trying to repeat this process. Every self-defense situation is different though, and if you find yourself able to get the upper-hand in a scenario where you are in danger of becoming the victim, you should take that chance. Just complying with a robber doesn't always result in the robber taking what he wants and leaving you alone. There have been a number of situations where the assailant still violently attacks the victim after getting what they want, and ultimately in the moment, you're the only one who can predict what may happen next.
