Interesting footage shows resourceful Ukrainians using a lathe to decrease the diameter of Soviet 82mm mortar rounds down to 81mm so they can be fired from US-supplied M252 mortar systems.

The process hints that Ukraine has a plethora of Soviet rounds and a limited supply of American munitions to feed their American-delivered mortar tubes. The modification of the rounds creates new challenges as there is likely no ballistics data for the newly-lathed munitions, but with testing and calculations, they will likely be able to develop consistent firing tables.
