A Ukrainian soldier records as Mi-8 attack helicopters fire volleys of rockets toward Russian positions while dropping counter measure flares. The aircraft are flying at extremely low levels to avoid showing up on enemy radar as well as to avoid being locked by Russian MANPADS targeting systems.

The rocket volleys are used similar to a Grad MLRS rocket barrage. They are not overly accurate nor are the rockets as powerful as a Grad munition, but they can be effective for terrain denial and on area targets such as an enemy base or occupied trench line.
