A video camera mounted underneath the tail of a Ukrainian Mi-24/Mi-35 Hind gunship provides an interesting view of a lofted rocket volley against Russian positions.

The launching of unguided rockets in a lofted manner fills a similar role as Grad MLRS systems, and the technique is used to keep aircraft out of air defense missile range. The pilot calculates the angle of the nose at the time of launch based on the distance and direction to the target. The rockets are probably even less accurate than Grads and carry less payload, but they are able to engage area targets and deny terrain to enemy forces.
