Russian Saved by Helmet After Round Passes Through Nearby Wall

Video released by a Russian state sponsored media source captures the moment a member of the Russian PMC organization known as Wagner catches a stray round with his helmet after it passed through a nearby wall.

Sometimes you just get lucky. Had the dude in this video been about a step further forward, it's likely that the shooter would have adjusted his point of aim and not hit the wall, but instead just his helmet. From the impact, we can tell the round is a rifle rated threat, and from what we've seen in the past the Russian helmets from the 1990s simply are not up to the task of protecting the users in worst case impacts.

Fortunately for this dude, the round impacted with the wall first. Had the round not hit the wall and lost most of its kinetic energy, very strong chance it would have blasted directly through both sides of this guy's helmet.
