Insane close combat footage shows a battle between Russian and Ukrainian forces in the same trench. The lead Ukrainian fighter can be seen firing a machine gun at a cyclic rate to suppress the approaching Russian force. However, he is unaware of how close they have gotten.

Suddenly, a Russian rifleman peaks around a bend in the trench and fires at the exposed machine gunner. The rounds impact the side of the crew served weapon, knocking it out of the Ukrainian's hand. Seconds later, the Ukrainian soldier withdraws to the rest of his squad and they rapidly retreat from the area.
