(NSFW) Indiana Road Rage Escalates From Cutting Off To Getting Shot

This bystander video, out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, shows a dangerous escalation between two drivers. The date provided by the camera is incorrect- local news corroborates that the incident took place in November, 2023. At around a minute into the footage, a dark-colored sedan merges in on a red van, cutting it off. The driver of the van returns the favor, even appearing to bump the sedan before merging in front of it. The sedan then parks in front of the van, blocking it as the occupants jump out to attack the van’s occupants. The sedan driver takes a swing at the glass, at which point the driver of the van opens fire, striking him in the arm and shoulder. However, rounds also strike the white SUV, causing that driver to take shrapnel injuries.

Because of their mutually aggressive driving, the attack, the lethal nature of the van driver’s response, and the rounds injuring a bystander, both parties were charged in this incident. Lessons: First and foremost, it was better to let this go instead of escalating to what it became. Secondly, just because you’re looking for a fistfight doesn’t mean the other party will meet you at that level. Playing fair is for suckers. Thirdly, you are responsible for every round out of your weapon, regardless where you intend for them to go.
