Members of Jaish al Islam in a defensive position end up with perfect enfilade fire against an assaulting squad of Syrian Arab Army conscripts. The gunner mows them down with extreme prejudice.

The problem with a conscripted military is that training and equipment can only go so far. When a group of people is forced onto the battlefield against their will, they often don't have the intestinal fortitude required to learn the basic Soldier skills needed to survive on the battlefield. When you're busy being terrified or lamenting the situation your government has put you into, paying attention to a class on why you shouldn't maneuver towards a machine gun in a straight line is one of the last things on your mind. Ultimately, it's what got these conscripted Syrians killed.

Enfilade fire is every machine gunner's wet dream, and we can see it achieved perfectly in this video. The Syrian Conscripts get into a line, like ducks in a row, and maneuver directly toward a machine gunner's position. As they move, the machine gunner gives the group his entire belt of ammunition, putting them in the prone position for the very last time. With very little effort required on the part of the machine gunner himself, the squad is removed as a factor from the battlefield, because they put themselves in an entirely untenable position with their poorly planned maneuver.
