On June 8, 2021 five people were injured during an altercation, when a 29-year-old male pulled the pin on a hand grenade after being punched in the face multiple times.
Although it is unclear in the footage why these two individuals are fighting, the suspect can be seen approaching the man in sweat pants, throwing something in his face. The suspect, who has maintained his hands in his pockets during the entire confrontation draws suspicion already. As the man in the sweat pants approached the suspect, he throws a right hook, barely making contact with the mans head.
Immediately after the first punch, the suspect can be seen struggling to pull and object from his pocket. Nine times out of ten, you'd think it would be a handgun, WRONG. As the suspect catches a hard left hook to the face, an object can be seen in his hand as he stumbles backward. The object, is soon realized to be a hand grenade. The suspect quickly flicks the pin and drops the grenade into the group of by-standers, where seconds later it exploded.
This frag grenade left five individuals, ages 16 to 33-years-old with multiple shrapnel wounds. The suspect is now facing attempted murder, illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives charges, which under Ukraine Criminal Code is punishable up to 10 to 15 years imprisonment.
