This footage, released by a Houthi media outlet, shows yet another MQ-9 Reaper drone being shot down by Houthi munitions, this time over Yemen’s Al-Bayda province. This purportedly occurred on 19 May, 2024.

As the Houthis begin to rack up kills on the MQ-9, it appears that the GWOT-iconic surveillance drone is beginning to show its age versus anti-aircraft tech supplied by a country as close-to-near-peer as Iran is. This is the second reaper downed in May (first here) with another downed on 27 April, making three in less than 30 days from first to third. I’m calling that a hat trick.
