HIMARS Obliterates $200 Million Russian Radar

A Russian coastal unit, specifically a $200 Million "Predel-E" Coastal over-the-horizon radar system and a "Leer-2" electronic-warfare system, were destroyed by airburst HIMARS or M270 guided rockets (GMLRS).

The crucial hits took place in the Port of Zaliznyi in the southern Kherson Region of Ukraine. The destruction of the Predel-E will diminish the Russian's ability to detect and track Ukrainian tactical maneuvers and air sorties closing in on the Crimean peninsula.

The Leer-2 is able to intercept and locate signal transmissions, but also has a jamming role. It was likely operating near the radar to protect it, but failed as both units were destroyed.
