GoPro footage from a member of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of Ukraine shows Ukrainian troops in a fighting position repelling a Russian attack near Kreminna.

I don't want to spend a bunch of time talking about the goofy things the Soldier with the GoPro on does throughout the video. Yes, he fails to remember height over bore a few times. Yes, he nearly blows his friend's ear drum out for no reason. Yes, he has a negligent discharge at the very beginning of the video. None of that really matters though, because I'm not sitting in the trench next to the guy feeling the same fear and adrenaline as him.

We have to remember when viewing footage like this that not even two years ago, this kid was probably working in a bar or supermarket. It's unlikely that he was a professional warfighter before his country was invaded by the Russians. As a result, he gets a little bit of leeway on making mistakes like that in the heat of the moment.

If it weren't for the Russian invasion, this dude would probably be sitting at home playing Elden Ring or something. Instead, he's sitting in a fighting position next to another young guy behind a machine gun waiting to kill other human beings who probably would have been in the same regional video game servers as him just 400 short days ago.
