A viral tweet that surfaced in February 2021, shows the moments a porch pirate approached a Detroit home and attempted to steal a package. While the thief headed back toward the getaway car, the homeowner exited the front door, armed with an AR-15. As soon as this happened, the thief's accomplice sped off, leaving the crook behind.

Although this seems like the perfect catch, it was later announced the video was staged by a family. Even though it's fake, many people I'm sure believe it was real, and quite honestly could be a great viral source to make dirt-bag porch pirates think twice about consequences before committing these types of crimes.
