Anti-Junta Special Forces Team Trains with American Sounding Instructor

An interesting video coming out of Myanmar today shows an Anti-Junta SOF team being trained by a few very American looking and sounding instructors.

For the record, the term SOF here is relative. Keep in mind that most of the fighters we've been seeing in Myanmar have zero formal marksmanship or warfighting training. They pick up rifles and go to work against the military without any real experience, and the only thing they know they've likely learned in direct combat. This unit is an SOF unit, that does not mean they will be meeting the same standards or expectations as an American or European special operations unit.

What's interesting about this video is that at several points throughout, you can clearly hear an American speaking, and you can see one acting as a range safety officer as the troops conduct their live fire training.

I don't know who that guy is, I know absolutely nothing about him. That said, if anyone does know him, we'd love to talk to them so that we can get their perspective on the situation in Myanmar. Right now the only perspective we have comes from what we've seen posted by the Anti-Junta fighters themselves. A third party perspective for someone who's actively on the ground working in a training capacity would be huge.
