Footage posted on Telegram shows the Ukrainian military in Germany training on the M1A2 Abrams. The M1 Abrams family is the American Main Battle tank and has seen service since 1980, most famously in Gulf War 1 & 2 and operations against ISIS. The Ukrainians are reportedly receiving the Export variant of the M1A2, which means it will not have the special composite armor but will receive sophisticated sights and sensors. However, it is still unknown precisely when the M1A2 will be positioned for front-line combat use by the Ukrainians.
