Ukrainian Troops Establish Support by Fire Position Near Kherson

A squad-sized unit of Ukrainian Soldiers participating in the Kherson counter-offensive establish a support by fire position in a culvert. The cameraman is clearly either an officer or a senior non-commissioned officer.

Realistically, this is a smaller link in the operational counter-offensive against Russian forces occupying Kherson. We're looking at about a squad-sized unit in a culvert attempting to establish a support by fire position. If the Ukrainians are operating with any sort of standard platoon structure, these guys are likely supporting a platoon-level advance against a strong-point in the Russian defense.

The reason I state that we can tell the cameraman is also the senior guy is because he is clearly supervising. He is even equipped with an ultra-rare pointing stick, which proves that he is the man in charge. Reddit has lovingly dubbed this stick the M-69 Pointy Stick, which is big if true.

The M-69 Pointy Stick is a heavily developed weapon system designed specifically for unit leaders. It underwent years of tactical development at DARPA, and was first employed during the Vietnam War by the United States Special Operations Community. During it's trial phase, it was issued to ODA leaders who were embedded with Vietnamese forces.

Little known fact, unit leaders who conducted operational mission briefs and tactical supervision with the M-69 pointing stick saw a 420% increase in their effectiveness during combat operations.

Also, the last four paragraphs are purely a meme. I know some of you can't take a joke, but I wanted to put something worth reading in the analysis tab so you guys weren't just getting the usual "Ukrainian/Russian troops do war things near x-y-z location."

Have a nice day.
